The 75th anniversary of the Republic was celebrated jointly with the office of the General Officer Commanding (Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa) on Friday, 26th January 2024. As in the past, the celebrations were devoted to honouring wounded warriors. 75 wounded warriors recommended by the office of the GoC were selected for the honours. 38 of them were honoured on that day and the balance of 37 on 18th March 2024 at the Pune Paraplegic Centre of the Indian Army. Each of the Disabled soldiers was given a solatium of Rs. 1,00,000/- and several mementos of common day to day utility. Lt. Gen. H. S. Kahlon, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding (Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa) presided over the function and Smt. Harkiran Kahlon joined in felicitating the wounded warriors. The felicitation was followed by a ballet “Unstoppable” by differently abled artistes of Ability Unlimited. Unstoppable is an experience beyond the ordinary. The disabled artistes brilliant, innovative and aesthetically crafted dance – theatre performance was educative, motivating and entertaining. Army on Wheels dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Republic was also performed by the artistes.

Ltd., Shriram Seva Sankalp, TATA Sons Ltd., Godrej Industries Ltd., Nihchal Israni Foundation, National Payments Corporation of India, Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd. and Sodotex India Ltd. Society Tea gave a hamper containing the various products and variety of tea to all the wounded warriors and also the sponsors of the event.
